During Chinese New Year (CNY),this area becomes a frantic and festive epicenter where traditional "wet market" culture meets seasonal celebration. While usually a place for daily groceries, the intersection of Cross Street and Tai Yuen Street overflows with seasonal goods. You'll find stalls packed with red envelopes (lai see), traditional decorations, and lucky calligraphy. Cross Street is exceptionally photogenic due to its raw, "old Hong Kong" atmosphere contrasted with the modern skyscrapers of Wan Chai.
